This is not the remastered version that came out more recently. There are some weird artifacts on songs, such as some warble/phaser type of sounds. I'm not sure if it is from the radio compression. There is also a skip in "Black Flag", and and think part of "Fall on Me" is missing. Still worth a listen. It was originally recorded for radio broadcast, so it is a soundboard recording. Enjoy! Havoline's "Football Saturdays in the South" showcases the new head coach of Florida State University, Jimbo Fisher. Tim Brando Hosts. In his closing remarks for the show (not captured here) he says not to be surprised if FSU wins 10 games this year, Christian Ponder may be the first QB taken in the draft, and LSU fans have asked "what happened to their QBs". I was at this show, it was actually June 26, 1992. If I recall correctly, it was not long after this show at the Empire that the fire marshal ended up putting the brakes on a show at the club, telling ownership there were too many people in attendance. If I recall, the club owners said if we can't have that many in attendance, we'll have to close and the club closed I think before the end of 1992...

    I was at this show. I was bummed that Galactic Cowboys canceled that night due to Monty being sick. The band The Lost was also on the bill but they were boring. King's X were great as always. It always struck me as odd that WMMS sponsored this concert as they never really played King's x or GC. I bet Atlantic Records paid for this...

    There's a certain warmth, and vibe about this. From not just their golden era, but one of music's. Someone knew of this radio concert and made time to sit there with a tape deck and get it right from stage to radio. What a time, it truly is a joy to hear.

      I was fortunate to see them when they first came to Cleveland in 88'. They opened up for Hurricane at a bar in Bedford called Septembers and rocked the house and sat at the bar talking and mingling with everyone. Really cool down to earth dudes with no ego, unlike Hurricane which no one cared to even hear after seeing King's X !!

    • @216Numbskull
      @216Numbskull 3 года назад

      @@forvaughn Exactly, me either they were dialed in, and on top of their game. It absolutely should have been the other way around on that venue, but the arrogance of Hurricane thought different, because the 2 younger brothers of Quiet Riot's Carlos Cavazo and Rudy Sarzo played in Hurricane. It really was great and one of my most memorable shows, especially being such an intimate setting. It wasn't even a club, just a local bar with a small stage in the corner. Great times & shows like that in the 80's/90's. Happy New Year!

    @TheBrotherofcats It wasn't weakness dude, it was injuries. In 3 of our 4 losses last year we were missing over half of our starting offense. You do the same thing to Alabama and they arent the 2012 BCS Champs. No team could overcome what we sustained this year. Jimbo is a great coach and he WILL prove ya wrong.

  • @TheBrotherofcats
    @TheBrotherofcats 12 лет назад

    @nole4life2671 Oh, and by the way, I love Ballet, and Soccer, and Tae Kwon Do, and shooting, and boxing. and Theater. I guess I'm just a little bit more well rounded than you are. I am an FSU fan, but am not blinded by love of the team enough to not see there weaknesses. And Jimbo is a weak link in that team. I really hope he proves me wrong. but I don't think he will.

  • @TheBrotherofcats
    @TheBrotherofcats 12 лет назад

    @nole4life2671 I had to laugh when I read your reply. Your opening sentence showed me what kind of intellectual giant you are. I would put my academic and intellectual credentials against yours any day of the millennium. I am also pretty sure I know as much or more about football than you do. I actually watch the games, do you? It wasn't just the injuries to the O-line and playing freshmen that turned them into a substandard unit. Oh, and Can't has an appostrophy in it.

  • @nole4life2671
    @nole4life2671 12 лет назад

    @TheBrotherofcats You're an idiot. The guy went 10-4 his first year and was completely riddled with injuries last year to the point of having to start all Freshman on the OLine. Anybody with ANY knowledge of football knows sustaining that level of injuries is insurmountable. Maybe football isnt your sport, maybe you should take up ballet. Anybody who cant see Jimbo is a great coach, has no clue abt the game of football.

  • @TheBrotherofcats
    @TheBrotherofcats 13 лет назад

    And it was an elite program until it was run into the ground the last decade. Now Jimbo has the chance to run it even further into the ground and totally destroy. Good work Jimbo.

  • @TheBrotherofcats
    @TheBrotherofcats 13 лет назад

    As shown this year, Jimbo is only capable of coaching high school and below. We made a real mistake getting this guy as head coach. The sooner he leaves Tallahassee the better.
